Izzy is an active alert young dog that loves to play fetch with anyone willing to spend the time and energy (she can go on for hours!). On the other hand she will curl up on your lap while you watch TV or use your computer. She also loves to lie on your chest while you nap on the sofa giving many kisses before settling down. She is smart, attentive and well behaved.
Izzy is a very good eater and except for a few accidents, she is potty trained to go when led outdoors. She walks well on a leash with a harness and is always ready to go for a ride in the car. She sleeps all night on her doggie bed without being crated. Izzy seldom barks in spite of the barking of her housemates and is well behaved when being groomed.
Izzy loves everyone- children, adults, and other dogs. (Has not been around cats to determine). She does prefer adult interaction, however she is learning to play tug of war with her housemates when they take her toys. She is never aggressive playing with the other dogs but tends to be possessive of her adults, wanting all the attention. She will growl at another dog coming toward her adult when she is on their lap (we are working on that).
Izzy is not afraid of strangers (male or female), rather she will jump into their lap and give kisses often bringing her ball to them for fetch. Everyone who sees Izzy wants to keep her! We do think she should be in a home with some level of daily activity. Preferably with one adult home most of the day. Although not needy, she craves adult attention. She would be happy in a home with or without another dog, with or without children but definitely not in a home where she is alone a great majority of the day.
Izzy is currently being fostered in Scottsdale AZ. (Foster mom is willing to dog sit or have play dates with Izzy if a forever home is found in the area.)
A donation will be requested to adopt this dog. The recommended donation amount will be based on the dog's age, and medical and behavioral issues, if any. A completed application is required if you are interested in adoption. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
