Seven-year-old Roxie Venus is 10 pounds of love and happiness. This darling little Havanese loves snuggling up with people and providing close companionship.
Roxie Venus is house trained and crate trained. She gets along with cats and dogs, but would be quite happy as an only dog. Roxie is sociable and loves it when you talk to her. She's a little shy at first, but warms up and loves attention. A smart little girl, she knows a number of commands including sit, stay, come and "in your box" which is her cue to go in her crate.
Roxie Venus is recovering from a bad rash, thought to be a reaction to flea bites or to the flea preventative. She's being treated with medication, medicated baths and a grain-free salmon-based dog food and vitamin E. She should continue on this diet after she's adopted. She's making good recovery and it's expected that the rash will go away and she'll no longer require the medicated baths or medication.
Because of the degree of her itchiness, Roxie Venus isn't comfortable being brushed or having her nails trimmed now. She also prefers to just be pet on her back and likes to initiate that contact. Her ears are especially sensitive right now. She isn't especially happy with her bath, but she cooperates.
Roxie Venus would love an owner who is home much of the day. She loves her people time, whether it's hanging out on the sofa with them or taking a walk. She has good leash manners and likes exploring the outdoors. She will make a wonderful companion for the family fortunate to adopt her.
Roxie Venus is being fostered in FL.
