Two year old Tucker is jumping for joy now that he's learned it's great to be a dog. He wasn't so sure when he first came to HRI. Tucker thought he was in charge. He just wasn't used to a person telling him when he needed to be brushed, handled or that he needed to eat dog food. Being a smart little dog, he quickly learned that it's great to have human attention and takes all this in stride.
Tucker enjoys playing with the other Havanese in his foster home and would do great in a home with another dog. Running, chasing, crashing...he loves it all. What's more, Tucker shares his foster mom's lap and attention with other dogs without any problem. He's learning to be a part of the pack.
Tucker loves affection. He makes happy little sounds when he's pet up and down his body. When he trusts you, he gives a little kiss. It's been delightful watching this little boy become comfortable finding his place in a family.
Tucker needs an adult family or perhaps with older kids. The family should have time to work with him daily to continue his training. Tucker enjoys learning new tricks and hearing he is a good boy. Knowing what is expected of him is important in helping him find his place in his family.
Tucker is being fostered in Minnesota.
