Born early February, Jackson was purchased at a pet store by a loving family who didn’t realize the problems many of these animals can have. He is undergoing tests to identify a possible heart defect and as we learn what, if anything, is going on we’ll update his page.
Watching Jackson run and play, anyone would have a hard time thinking he might have a problem. Besides being very active, inquisitive, and alert he has personality plus.
As young as he is, he seeks affection as well. Jackson is quick to flop on his back for tummy rubs and then dashes off to investigate a toy. He has multiple toys strewn all over the floor and goes from one to another, but it seems he thinks climbing on a small empty box is a lot of fun too.
Jackson has one small stuffed yellow and orange lion toy that he loves to carry from room to room. Watching him shake it with a tiny growl brings a big smile. He loves to run outside, loves grass, and housebreaking is going well too.
He’s a very smart little guy and seems to ‘get it’. He will occasionally stop what he’s doing and stare at you as if he’s sizing you up! He dearly loves and craves attention but watch your shoelaces!
Jackson is a plump ball of soft fur and just plain adorable. If spirit, fight, and spunk count for anything, this little man will do just fine.
*Update: Jackson’s 2 week post-op check could not have brought better news. He no longer has a murmur, is gaining weight, and his surgeon feels he will lead a normal, happy, Havanese life. He continues to amaze all of us with his antics and his love of life, people, and all things in general. Watching a little puppy go through such a significant surgery on a Wednesday, and on Friday is back home hoping to heck he will be allowed to run with the other dogs (that did NOT happen!) was amazing! He is growing, even though still a puppy, and has wormed his way into the heart of his foster mom (and he knows it!). Stay tuned as we watch this little miracle continue to grow.
Jackson is being fostered in Texas
