Colby came from a puppy mill and is such a gentle soul for a five-month old puppy. A little shy, but he has already learned to go to his "safe spot" when it's time to be picked up.
Within the first few days he learned how to go up and down stairs, drink from a water bottle, and play with toys. He still has a long way to go to figure out exactly "how" to play with the toys - but he is trying.
Colby is crate trained, nearly potty trained and his favorite thing is when his foster mom talks baby talk to him — he rolls right over for a big belly rub!
He has met young children and is great with them. Other dogs are very interesting to him as well, and Colby loves to play outside, running after the other dogs, although with his short legs he lags behind quite a bit! He loves the outdoors, walking through the grass, and will be working on leash training shortly.
Like most young pups, Colby is not very happy when left alone, but more than ready to give the jumpy, kissy greeting that we all expect from Havs when you return.
Colby will be neutered when he has matured a bit more, and then he will be looking for a family where there is someone home to keep him company during the day.
Colby is being fostered in CT.
This dog is iin our "Foster To Adopt" program, which means he's being fostered by his eventual adopters. Information on the program may be found here. Participation in this program may increase your chances of adopting a Havanese.
