Bonita is a sweet little Havanese rescued from a mill. She weighs about 13 pounds. Bonita had some dental work when she arrived and she is now ready for her forever home. We estimate her age to be about 8 years old. Bonita desperately wants to be loved and cuddled and will sit in your lap for hours if you put her there.
Bonita is a very sweet girl and her foster mom is learning all about her. She smiles when you talk to her! Bonita enjoys toys, especially trying to unstuff the squeaker out of squeaky toys, so her foster mom has to be careful what kinds of toys she gives this happy Havanese! She is curious and a little mischievous! She also likes to pull the towel off of the towel bar and carry it across the
room. Bonita really likes soft chewies, and one of her favorites is rawhide. Yummy! But she’s very willing to give it up if her foster mom tells her to ‘give’.
She has learned to climb stairs, and does very well on a leash when she goes on her walks. She’s a fast learner and very much wants to please. She has a beautiful white coat which is very easy to groom. She gets along very well with other dogs and would benefit by having a self-confident, well adjusted dog in her new family. She is still a little timid around people she doesn’t know but warms up very quickly.
Her wish list in a forever home would be a home that wants to give her the love and attention she so dearly loves, along with plenty of belly rubs and kisses. She would also love to have someone home with
her the majority of the time but she is good when left alone. A home with older, considerate children would be okay but quick movements and loud noises startle her so a calm child would be best.
Bonita is crate trained and doing exceptionally well with housetraining. She doesn’t bark much-only when she gets excited about something…like FOOD! She cleans her plate at every meal and loves treats. Her foster mom is working on taking treats ‘nicely’ as she needs to practice taking them more gently.
Bonita is a happy and loving Havanese, and ready for her forever home. She will make an amazing companion for a loving family lucky enough to have this little charmer.
