Sammy is a cute white Havanese about 2 years old. He is a very sturdy boy at 17 pounds but not at all fat. Sammy is a very sweet boy with a chocolate nose and amber eyes. He has a beautiful wavy white coat and little chocolate pads on his feet.
He is learning about house rules and loves all the attention from the other dogs. Sammy has discovered toys and will run up to his foster mom and want to play tug of war. Then he shakes them for all he is worth. One of his favorite toys is a rope that is stuffed in the middle. Naturally he has removed the squeaker. His other favorite toy is a heart which has a squeaker and he loves to squeak it.
Sammy is a very energetic boy and plays constantly. He would do well in a hearty, active family and a home with busy kids. Because he is so energetic, he might enjoy a dog sport like fly ball or agility. He wants people to play with him constantly, and loves to run and jump in your lap. After a good romp and run he wants nothing more than to sit in your lap, watch a little TV, and be petted and get lots of ear scratches and belly rubs. Sammy is literally a lap dog with lots of energy!
Sammy came into Rescue with heartworms, but his treatments are completed and he’s ready for his forever home. Part of his wish list is having someone home most of the day, a family willing to play with him, lots of toys, plenty of exercise and long walks, and provide Sammy with a lot of lap time. He wants a loving family willing to give him ear scratches, belly rubs (a favorite) and lots of petting after a good romp in the yard. He is not afraid of anything, and loves everyone. He is crate trained and walks well on a leash. He will do well with other dogs and with children, probably older ones and that will more than likely be part of his wish list. When he hears children in the neighborhood, he wants to find them. His foster mom has no cats but thinks by the way he acts he would be okay with any creature.
He has discovered snuggling and petting and craves it. He loves to get attention and sit in his foster mom’s lap, but does not mind if everyone else is in her lap either! He loves to eat and get treats, especially when he comes after being called.
Sammy will sleep in his crate without a peep, but he’d really love sharing a bed if he could have it. He will make an amazing companion for some lucky family. He’s a happy, energetic, loving boy, and would love nothing better than a home with lots of activity. And of course lap time and plenty of loving with belly rubs.
Sammy is being fostered in Texas
