This beautiful little girl is looking for a home where her people have lots of time for her. Unfortunately, her original family found themselves with too many obiligations and could not give her the time and attention she needs. Havana is a sweet girl, and loves everyone, including kids, other dogs, cats and even birds. Her best pal was an African Gray Parrot.
Havana is healthy and happy, but will need some attention and work with housetraining. She was left alone inside the house with wee wee pads for extended periods, so she will need a consistent schedule with frequent trips outside to reinforce proper potty habits. UPDATE: After a week in foster care, Havana has not had a single accident in the house!
Such a gentle soul, Havana has a mild problem with submissive urination...easily handled by keeping greetings very low-key. Over-excitement during reunions triggers this problem. UPDATE: After a week in foster care, there has been no sign of this problem at all.
She travels well in the car and on a plane. She's a calm and affectionate companion that just needs the right amount of attention. She's a real lap dog and will spend hours by your side on the sofa. At just over 10 lbs, she's the perfect size for laps! She enjoys being groomed and relaxes on your lap with her eyes closed for brushing.
Havana gets along well with her foster mom's three Havanese and is learning to use the doggy door. She would do well with another Havanese or other small dog as a companion.

- A fenced yard
- A Havanese or other small dog companion
- Stay-at-home owners who will spend a lot of time with her and are willing to work on housetraining
- If family travels, Havana must go along or have in-home care. She would not do well in a kennel environment
