Hello! My name is Ricky. I came into foster care with my buddy Ditto when our first mom became too ill to take care of us. I am 12 years old, have a gorgeous white
coat and weigh a healthy 18 pounds. When we came to foster care, we had to relearn some house manners but that is all behind us now. My foster mom and I agree that I am pretty close to perfect. I go potty outside, walk nicely on a leash, am a wonderful traveler and get along with almost everyone. I will go in the crate with my buddy Ditto but prefer to stay close to mom. She says that I wrote the definition for Velcro. Mostly, I just want to make sure that everyone I care about is okay.
Now for the some of the challenges I face. I seem to get little infections, so we watch my diet and keep medicine on hand to treat them. I have had ear, skin and eye infections over the past year. I have a fatty tumor behind my right front leg but it isn’t bothering me right now. I have had other tumors removed and they weren’t cancer so we are just watching this one. I am good about taking any medicine you want me to have to feel better. I like the grain-free food we have and usually clean my plate. I also like to sleep right next to mom in the big bed. If you wanted me to sleep somewhere else, we would need to talk about that. 
If I get adopted, I would like to live with someone who doesn’t have other dogs or kids. Ditto is my special buddy and if he could come, that would be great. Right now we have to share attention with two or four other dogs. I get along with them but they are not really friends. I like the cat here a lot but think maybe it would be nice to be an “only.” I hope that my new family is home a lot since I might be lonely. I also hope that they will take me on short walks around the neighborhood. I like to see what is going on.
