Maggie is between 3-5 years old and in her previous life she was a breeding dog at a puppy mill.
Her foster mom describes her as a “gentle soul” and reports that both she and her husband are now followed around the house by Maggie, who is now comfortable enough to exhibit the wonderful wagging tail of happiness sign!
It took awhile for that bond to become evident as Maggie never had any form of positive interaction with human beings prior to entering into our rescue program.
Maggie will be best suited to a quiet home with no small children. She requires a friendly doggie playmate that will interact with her as playing is her favorite activity.
Maggie is healthy, but does have skin allergies that are controlled with a special veterinary diet food as an allergy pill each day. She is crate trained and she likes her give herself personal time outs inside when she feels a nap coming on!
Maggie enjoys going on walks. This is when she is most confident. She walks with her head held high and her tail wagging.
Maggie is looking for a home with humans who are very patient and loving, can provide her with a fenced in backyard, are willing to walk her everyday, and can provide her with a friendly & playful canine buddy of her own.
