Say hello to Abby. She is a sweet little girl whose past is basically unknown, but her future is bright. When she first arrived at her foster home, Abby was extremely shy and scared. She did not want to walk on grass or climb stairs, which probably means she spent at least some part of her life in a puppy mill. She has conquered the grass issue, but has kept stair climbing as a goal.
In addition to her past, her age is also a mystery. According to the vet, she has young eyes but old teeth, so the estimate is around five years old. Abby does well with all of the dogs she has met so far and has an endearing habit of lying close to her favorite canine whenever she can.
She is very motivated by food, which makes it easy to get her attention and work on training skills. At this time, she is tentative towards humans but doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. She displays a very sweet temperament. After less than a week in her foster home she
has started to relax and to begin to show interest in toys. Abby came into foster care weighing 13 pounds, which is a bit heavy for her small frame but she is already down to 12.3 pounds as she is getting more exercise and healthier food in her foster home. Abby's ultimate goal is 10 pounds. Her necessary dental work has been scheduled for next week. After that, just watch her rock!
