Hi, I am Rocco and I am a 14 month old bundle of energy and love, not to mention just about as cute as they come (see my pictures if you don't believe me!) I came to HRI from a loving family that had kids and I really want to be in a family again. I have never, ever met a person that I don't like, young or old. If you give me a chance, I will gladly sit on your lap and get to know you.
My best feature, besides being a cuddle bug, is that I can jump! My foster dad says I have springs for legs. I can easily jump up to and down from the back of the couch with so much ease and grace it would make an Olympic high-jumper jealous. My foster mom bets I would be a great dog for training in dog agility...I don't really know what that is, but if it means I could run and jump, then I am sure I would love it!
I would do very well as an only dog as long as I have a family to play with me and someone whose lap I could spend time on during the day. Or at least keep company around the house. I was raised by myself, so I don't really know a lot about what my foster mom calls "doggy manners," but my doggy foster sisters are helping to teach me. I am trying to learn quickly so that if you have another dog in your house, I could be the perfect second dog for you, too.
I am mostly housebroken, but I still need little reminders in that area, but with your help I know that I could get there. I also know some basic obedience commands and I have shown my foster mom that I am quick to learn the rules of my foster home. However, I think I might benefit from an obedience class with my new family to help me learn the rules of your house.
So let me sum up my wish list:
- A family with well behaved kids who would play fetch with me and take me for walks.
- A person who is home most of the day so that I can have a lap sometimes or at least be there with you so you don't get lonely.
- A fenced in yard so I can run and run and show you my agility moves.
In exchange, I promise to greet you every time I see you with lots of enthusiasm and to love you forever!
