Cassie is an 11-year-old sweetheart. She loves attention from her foster mom and follows her everywhere. Her sweet nature makes her easy to be around. She is adorable when she makes strange noises trying to talk to her foster mom. Cassie is less certain about her foster dad. She is more comfortable with women than men, with whom she is apprehensive. Cassie is good with children over the age of 12 and she gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home.
Cassie weighs 16 pounds and enjoys some veggies mixed in with her prescription low-fat dog food to help her trim down. She's lost 3 pounds on her diet. She was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease several months ago. Her medication is regulated now and has made a real improvement in her condition. Cassie is going to need more work with her house training after she's adopted. Cassie is on a special low fat diet for pancreatitis and also has a heart murmur, which doesn’t require treatment.
Cassie needs to continue losing weight. Keeping her on her diet is critical for her to remain healthy. Since losing weight, she's much more active and playful and she has increased her endurance.
Cassie is looking for a family that will love her for her darling personality. She will need patience in helping her continue to work on her house training and someone who's dedicated to seeing that she stays on her special diet and gets her medication twice a day.
