Sweet Roxy was very much loved by a little girl in her final months. They had to have been the best months of her life. She crossed the bridge due to kidney failure.
Roxy is an amazing, 14-year-old Shih Tzu mix who is full of personality. She loves to go for walks and is good on a leash but is equally happy napping next to you and being your best friend. She loves tummy rubs, scratches and sitting on your lap. Here she is, all tucked in with my new foster family at HRI.
Roxy is a talker, especially when she wants to eat. (Eating is her favorite activity. She eats a special kibble, which she loves, to prevent bladder stones.) If you tell Roxy, “no,” when she’s asking for mealtime, she rolls over on her back and looks at you with big brown eyes. If giving you “puppy eyes” doesn’t work, she will stand up on her hind legs and look at you to see if she can get your attention that way. Her antics make her foster mom laugh.
Roxy loves playing with toys, especially when her foster sister has one. She enjoys the company of her foster sister, another small dog, but would be fine in a home where she is the only dog. She is a special little girl who can’t wait to meet her forever family.
Roxy is in a Florida foster home.
