Spike joined HRI in the late fall of 2005 with multiple health problems. It's a testament to his foster home that he not only survived, but thrived for two more years. He was originally given only months to live.
His foster mom says, "I am honored to have shared these 2 years with such an old wonderful soul. His first kiss will always be dear to my heart, to have been so abused and neglected but yet to still reach out with love.
What else can we say about this wonderful breed. I will miss him dearly. Hopefully (as I would love to believe) he is now running again stronger than ever with a young heart, strong kidneys and free from the arthritis in his legs. He was a very very loving, forgiving soul and he deserves to be free now."
